One of the reasons I love maternity sessions is because they’re always a great ice breaker for mom and dad before a newborn session. In Carley and Adam’s case, it gave us a chance to officially meet face-to-face before I’ll be working with their sweet twins in a few weeks. (EEK!) But this session being an ice breaker is really just an added perk. What it’s really all about is showing off a beautiful mom-to-be during one of the most precious seasons of life.

I was so thrilled when Carley asked me about portraits a few months back. It was then that I learned they were expecting twin girls, so I knew this session would have to be carefully timed between weather, schedules and their arrival! Fortunately, we were able to do this shoot the first day that Nebraska broke out of arctic temperatures. Waiting for the sun, “heat,” and this jaw dropping sunset was totally worth the wait.
