Rausch Maternity | Waiting on Our Baby Boy!
While I always say how much I love the seasons of chaos, the importance of the season for quiet, calm and re-centering is not lost on me. For it’s in these quiet seasons where I’m able to reflect, appreciate what’s been done in chaos, catch up and find the places that need improvement. So these last few weeks have I have been taking advantage of the quiet as I work to catch up on albums, lingering projects, plans for 2023, and as Shayne and I continue to wait (im)patiently for our tiny little one.
Last week it hit me that we have officially entered into month 8 of our pregnancy. My jaw about hit the floor when I realized how quickly the months have been moving; The time spent carrying our sweet baby boy is almost over in the blink of an eye. So like any good photographer who always puts her photos in last priority, I figured it was high time to catch just a few maternity portraits before my time is up.
As proof that weather rarely cooperates, even for a photographer’s photos, the day that was suppose to be sunny and 46° turned into windy, cloudy, and 28°. So despite windblown hair, watering eyes and shivering parents-to-be we managed to get in a quick session. Shayne even got to practice his “dress tossing skills.” (I think I’ve trained him well. 😉)
I am so in love with these special images that captured such a precious, fleeting moment in our life. Thank you to my second shooter, Taylor, for helping us capture my vision. While I certainly prefer to be behind the camera, this soon-to-be mama is pretty tickled she got to be a “pregnant princess” for an evening.
