2022: A Year of Joy at Noel Photography and Design
To say this year ended as I thought it would when it began would be a lie. Sometimes your best laid plans have flaws, and God can randomly put something in your path you never imagined. Not to mention, the year always seems to fly by even faster than the one before it.
Unfortunately I had to start the year finishing recovering from a tough cold. So it took a hot minute to get back into the swing of things to get the studio ready and dive into sessions again. But according to my calendar, I never stopped running from there!
As weddings, sessions and design projects kicked off I had such a wonderful year capturing, celebrating, and making memories with so many wonderful clients. But June of 2022 definitely goes down as a month to remember! First, my second shooter, Tay, and I set off for a trip out to Maine which turned into more of an adventure than we had hoped. On the way out there flight after flight was canceled on us, and all attempts to get to our destination AND back home were failed. We ended up stranded in a couple different cities for about a week, where we had to (im)patiently wait for a flight that wouldn’t get canceled. We spent countless hours in the airport and trying to find accommodations. While they weren’t even close to our destinations, thankfully both Washington D.C. and Asheville, NC welcomed us with open arms. It’s taken some time to mentally and emotionally recover, but Tay and I can successfully laugh about this nightmare now!
After we finally got back to our lives and families in Nebraska a little extra surprise was waiting for me. After a week of not feeling quite right while we were traveling, I couldn’t help but notice that feeling wasn’t going away…Well SURPRISE! After returning home, Shayne and I found out that our “rainbow after the storm” was in the works. So in August we announced that Baby Rausch would soon be making our family of 2 a family of 3! He has been growing like a weed, and kicking the crap out of mommy. I’ll just assume he’s as excited to meet us as we are to meet him! (Expected Feb. 2023)
Now I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: Life just wouldn’t feel quite right without a little chaos. So while Baby Rausch has been busy baking, Shayne and I added two new fur babies to our “pack.” Millie the Australian Shepherd and Darla the Bernese Mountain dog. As a quick recap, this makes for 3 dogs, 2 cats and a baby on the way. But we needed some high pressure stakes… so during all this madness we’re also STILL waiting to get into our new house, hopefully before the baby comes! (Interior finish is not quite as fast as one would hope. HA!) 🤣 But I continue to believe that God’s timing is perfect, and we are so incredibly blessed with the most amazing family and friends ready and waiting to help us through this transitional season.
So friends, as you can tell it’s been an incredible year. Thank you all SO MUCH for hanging with me as this chaos ensues, even when you didn’t always know what was happening behind the scenes. Your trust, and absolute faith in me and what I do, speaks volumes as to how lucky I am when it comes to my business family.
Some pretty big announcements are still in the works, but I think 2022 has had about enough; So we’ll save some excitement for 2023. (And I hope you’ll all keep following along to hear them!) I pray the New Year finds you all well, and I CAN NOT WAIT to take you all on another adventure with me as my business and family continues to change. A belated Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and Happy Holiday Season to everyone!
